Sourcing the battery cadres locally would help cut costs and gain more headroom in the rapidly-expanding Chinese busines. Mercedes-Benz's year-to-date auctions in China are up 28 percent to about 429,000 vehicles, so there is some involve force there for possible plug-in vehicle auctions.
